A Cloud Is There is an ongoing research project exploring memories that were not directly lived but persist through bodies, gestures, songs, domestic routines, and family narratives. Continuing a dialogue initiated through Mand/inga, Thiago Antunes and Esteban Donoso draw on family histories from Brazil and Ecuador, approaching ancestry not as a fixed archive but as something continually reconstructed through storytelling, listening, speculation, and shared actions.

Combining choreography, film, and live narration, the research considers how memory travels across generations and geographies, and how domestic spaces are shaped by migration, inheritance, intimacy, labour, and belonging. The project was initiated in Canada in 2026 during residencies at CCOV – O Vertigo and Concordia University’s LePARC.
